Complete guide to managing your DevLyTicks account. Update your profile, configure privacy settings, manage notifications, secure your account, and control your data.
Profile Management
Your profile information is displayed across DevLyTicks - in dashboards, leaderboards, and team views. Keep it updated to help your teammates recognize you.
Display Name
Your public name shown throughout the application. This appears in leaderboards, contributor insights, and team analytics.
Example: "Sarah Johnson" or "Sarah J."
Profile Picture
Avatar image displayed next to your name. Supports JPG, PNG, and GIF formats up to 5MB.
Tip: Use a clear headshot or your GitHub avatar for consistency
Bio / Description
Brief description about yourself. Visible to team members and in your public profile (if enabled). Maximum 160 characters.
Example: "Senior Backend Engineer | Node.js enthusiast | Coffee addict ☕"
Location & Links
Optional fields for geographic location, personal website, and social media profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, GitHub).
Privacy: These fields are only visible to team members, not public
Updating Your Profile
- Navigate to Settings → Account
- Edit the fields you want to update
- Click "Save Changes"
- Changes reflect immediately across the platform
Email & Password Management
Your email address is used for notifications, account recovery, and team invitations. Keep it current and secure your account with a strong password.
Changing your email requires verification to ensure security.

Password Requirements
- • At least 12 characters
- • Mix of uppercase and lowercase
- • Include numbers and symbols
- • Avoid common passwords
Note: If you signed in with GitHub OAuth, you don't have a DevLyTicks password. Password management is handled by GitHub.
Email Change Impact
When you change your email address, all organization administrators are notified. Your active sessions remain valid, and you can continue using the platform during the verification process.
Connected Accounts & Integrations
Manage external services connected to your DevLyTicks account. Review permissions, refresh connections, or disconnect services you no longer use.

Managing Connected Accounts
When you disconnect an account, DevLyTicks will stop syncing data from that service. Historical data remains intact but won't be updated.
Tip: If you're experiencing connection issues, try refreshing the connection before disconnecting.

Smart Notification Management
DevLyTicks intelligently batches notifications to reduce noise. Critical alerts are sent immediately, while non-urgent updates can be bundled into digests. You can always customize notification settings per alert type.

Data Management & Export
You own your data. Export your metrics, analytics, and activity at any time in standard formats for backup or migration purposes.

Data is securely deleted from all systems after retention periods expire. Organization-level data may be retained longer per admin settings.
GDPR Compliance
DevLyTicks is fully GDPR compliant. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data at any time. Data exports are typically available within 48 hours of request.
Account Deletion (Danger Zone)
Permanently delete your DevLyTicks account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.

Once you delete your account, there is no going back. Please be certain.
What will be deleted:
- • Your profile and personal information
- • All personal metrics and analytics history
- • Your activity logs and contributions
- • Connected account integrations
- • Notification preferences and settings
What will be retained:
- • Organization team metrics (aggregated, anonymized after you leave teams)
- • Billing records (for tax/compliance purposes, 7 years)
- • Public contributions to shared repositories (if any)
